I've been loving red & white decorations this year, and wanted a bold Scandinavian look for my kitchen. Meeha's blog post about her red & white mugs and traditional decorations inspired me.

I found some bright place mats at the Goodwill and mugs and bowls at Homegoods!
You know I love IKEA. The story on the net about the well dressed monkey at IKEA cracked me up. My kitty, Penny, is loving the new rugs we bought.
I dug out some retro fiber optic, big bulb, Christmas lights! Did any of you have the fiber optic light ball in the eighties? I had one and remember thinking it was really cool!
Yes, two fantastic items just arrived from ETSY!
Just need to make some raisen bread, pizzle cookies and kruschiki. My polish grandmom would be proud:)

The finishing touch is our childhood sled propped out front with a red bow!
Now all we need is snow, perfect!

The sled is just perfect, and I used old school lights this year too. Love all the pops of red:)
