Snow is falling outside, but it's blooming inside! My hobnail pitcher and chenille bed spread are from a treasure hunt in Lancaster, PA.
I love the vintage look of this mug from Target!
My quilt had some small stains and a few tears.
Mending /Stain Removal:
- White iron-on patch on the reverse side of fabric mended the tears perfectly.
- Spray stains with an Oxyclean type product. If this doesn't work, then try method below.
- Mix a cap full of slow bleach and laundry soap, then use an old toothbrush to dab stains with mixture. Use on white fabric only! Wash immediately in mild detergent on delicate. The stains came out nicely!
I found some pretty chenille blankets on Etsy!

DeleteYour bedspreads are wonderful. I love the white with the mug on the nightstand! So pretty. I remember those bedspreads and the chenille robes too. I had a pink one growing up! I'm following you back. Thanks so much for your visit, it allowed me to find your blog. I'm off to look at more of your posts!!
ReplyDeleteAwe, thanks Kathy. I had the chenille robe too:) Thanks for stopping over!
DeleteLovely spread - I just love chenille. Makes me think of the cottage I spent summers in when I was a child. Wonderful homey memories. Lancaster PA has such fun antiques shops - love the Mad Hatter in Adamstown!
ReplyDeleteKelly
Hi Kelly, yes so many shops in Lancaster! We found Shank's Barn the same day. A salvage dream. We picked lots of vintage keys. Happy Easter!
DeleteLuv your white chenille bedspread. Hmmm. I have walked away from the stained and worn ones as I do not sew... but now that I see you can mend w/ iron on and a fabric patch.... I am having to rethink this.
ReplyDeleteFollowing right back!! :-)
Cheers, Gee
White is always much easier to spot stain remove, but when the fabric is finer you have to watch out. Even though it doesn't effect the color, bleach can damage the fabric. I w typically stitch small tears. The websites I posted had great ideas for stains on colored blankets. Happy Easter
