Ikea kitchen makeover

Our kitchen makeover was inspired by the farm house sink we bought at Ikea.  I love the folk art American flag my daughter found at Goodwill. We replaced our over stove microwave with a stainless steel range hood. It fits nicely with the stainless appliances and back splash.
We sanded the counter tops with fine sand paper, and sealed them with Behandla wood oil. It's approved for kitchen use. The farmhouse sink, faucet, stainless steel back splash, and four sink base cabinets are all from IKEA.
The entire kitchen got a fresh coat of white paint. All that's left to do is the floor<3

  13. Adorable!

How do you like Ikea's farmhouse sink? How's the finish? I have an IKEA sink in the bathroom that we remodeled and so far so good, but it does not get the use that a kitchen sink would. On the other hand, I had an expensive, name brand sink in my last home, and it began to look bad after 7 years, and by 9 it was worth considering replacement.

    1. The finish is great!!!!! I was worried because we had this super deep and extra wide farmish style stainless steel sink. We were rough with it with pans and such. But the ceramic is doing well!!!!! Thanks for stopping in:)

    2. Thank you so much. That's what I was wondering. I was hesitant to buy a name brand when IKEA's looks so cute, and the price is great! I'm following your blog too!

    3. I'd seen some brand name, under the counter, farm house sinks I really adored! Then I saw the prices at IKEA and couldn't resist! I initially wanted their double farm house sink, but our cabinet layout didn't work. Really happy with this one.
