Jack-o-lantern candy buckets are still a favorite for trick-or-treaters. Target had an entire isle of them. I couldn't resist buying a couple and turning them into solar lanterns. I wanted to light them outdoors. It was easy to drill some wholes through the plastic, so rain and moisture can escape.
I bought these solar firefly lanterns at Lowes this Summer for my patio. They charge all day in the sunlight and come on automatically at sunset.
I put a lantern in my Jack-o-lantern and it looks very cool! I love when decor has a double use.
(In case you were wondering, that's my camera lens cap on top of the solar lantern. I placed it on top so it would light for my photo)

Wind blew my jack-o-lantern off the table outside, so I added some small river rock around the lantern. It's not shown in my photo. Worked great!
I'm linking at these awesome parties!
